3D MOVIES

Although 3D Film has, in some form, existed since the 1910s, up until the 1950s, this type of motion picture was seen as a hindrance to its industry due to the non adaptive nature it had when interacting with other mediums/segments among the entertainment business, as well as the costly process in which it took to produce and display a 3D movie

The early 1950s were seen as the “Golden Era” of 3D movies, encouraged by the first feature ever to be released in stereoscopic color, a revolutionary imaging technique used to enhance the illusion of depth in an image, Bwana Devil (produced, written, and directed by Arch Oboler). Films like these are what brought about the resurgence of 3D imaging in the motion picture industry, creating a legacy that is still boldly seen today through watching the highly successful 3D presentations of recently made films, such as Avatar (2009) and Life of Pi (2012).
